Trelleborg Invests in Innovation Center and Tool Shop Remodel
Trelleborg Medical Solutions plans a 45,000-square-foot Innovation Center and is expanding its tool room to include more Swiss-machining and injection molding.
Trelleborg Medical Solutions, Plymouth, Minnesota, announced an expansion of its Innovation Center that it says will enable it to take on additional projects and accelerate the design and development cycle for customers. The company will move its Innovation Center from the current site in Plymouth to a new purpose-built space in nearby Delano, which covers 45,000 ft.2. The move and expansion project are scheduled to start in the spring of 2026 with a completion date in early 2027.

In addition, this project involves a remodel of the tool shop and tool room that will expand its footprint to 6,000-ft.2 and add nearly 40,000-ft.2 for a visitor center, additional high-end Swiss machining, injection molding and increased space for the automation laboratory.
Chris Tellers, Innovation Center and new product development director, says the visitor center will be a “collaborative, high-tech meeting area where customers can brainstorm on project ideas alongside our experts.” The additional Swiss machining and injection molding will enhance Trelleborg’s in-house capabilities, he noted.
