Teamwork and Tune-Ups
Managing a magazine is similar to running an F1 team because both require ongoing improvement, collaboration and flexibility to keep up with industry changes.

I am a Formula 1 fan! And lately, I've been thinking about how much goes into keeping a car on the track. It's a team effort — engineers, mechanics, drivers, all working together. They start with a solid plan, designing a car that can handle the demands of a race. Then comes the build, where every part gets put in place, checked and double-checked. But it doesn't stop there. Race after race, the crew tweaks the setup — adjusting aerodynamics, swapping components, fine-tuning the engine — to keep it running at its best. One weak link, and the whole thing falters. It's steady, ongoing work and everyone has to pull their weight.
I always need time to process after watching a race weekend, to really digest what I've seen. And lately, I keep coming back to how running this magazine feels a lot like managing an F1 team.
We begin with a clear vision of what we want to deliver — an editorial plan that reflects what's happening in moldmaking right now. From there, it's about building the content that serves you best. We dig deep into the trends and technical details that matter on your shop floor. Designers work to make it easy to read and understand. Industry experts share insights that tie it all back to the real world you're working in every day. Each piece matters, just like every bolt in an F1 car. We pull it together to create something useful, something you can actually rely on when you need answers.
But here's what I've learned after years in this business: like an F1 team, we can't just build it and walk away. Maintaining quality and staying relevant takes real effort. We're constantly asking ourselves: Is this hitting the mark? Are we covering what you actually need to know? The moldmaking industry moves fast — faster than many people realize. New techniques, new tools, new challenges emerge constantly and we have to keep up.
That means really listening to your feedback, watching the market closely and being willing to adjust our approach when necessary. It's not always flashy work, but it's absolutely necessary. A magazine that doesn't evolve is like a car stuck running last season's specs — it simply won't win any races.
Change can be hard, I know. But sometimes you have to let go of the old ways to move forward. Maybe it's time to embrace trying new things, taking a different approach or investing in that new perspective that could make all the difference.
An F1 car isn't built for just one lap, and this magazine isn't a one-off project. It's a tool, designed to help you navigate your work, issue after issue. We're not here to overcomplicate things or add noise to your already busy day. We're here to provide steady, practical support for the challenges you face.
This community never ceases to amaze me with how it overcomes obstacles and continuously solves problems to deliver high-quality molds. And when you're ready to take that next step — whatever that looks like for your business — I hope you'll turn to us to help guide those decisions.
So, as we roll out this issue, think of it as us pulling into the pit lane, ready to hand you exactly what you need to keep going. The race continues.
Let's stay on track together.
