Sepro Launches Revamped Robot Line and Controller
Sepro will debut the faster more power S-Line robots and a fully revamped Visual 4 controller at K 2025.
Sepro Group has redesigned its robot line for injection molding machines with up to 900 tons of clamping force. Debuting at K 2025, the new S-Line robots will replace the three-axis S5 Line and five-axis 5X Line, which have been in service for more than a decade.
Designed to serve molding machines with 100-900 tons of clamping force, the three new S-Line robot models offer three modular options, including a basic three-axis, servo-driven configuration; an additional servo-wrist rotation for a total of five axes of CNC motion; or special application-specific configurations, such as a medical version adapted for cleanroom environments.

Applying cam follower bearings for linear motions enables the robots to operate at 15% faster speeds than the previous generation of S5 and 5X Line robots, according Sepro. The Y-axis demolding stroke has been extended by 200 mm — almost 8 in. — increasing the effective stroke length by 22-40%, depending on the robot size. The S-Line’s servo-driven wrist is more compact than previous designs and all five-axis versions can be equipped with the R3 rotation, which adds a sixth axis of motion for freer movement inside the mold or outside the machine in secondary operations. New LED lights on the end of the robot are in response to customer demand for greater visibility of the operational status of the robot, even from across the shop floor.
Along with the S-Line, Sepro will roll out its new Visual 4 control at K 2025, and it will be available on all Sepro robots in 2026. Sepro says the modern, lightweight user-interface pendant is at the heart of a more connectable control platform. The Visual 4 project involved the development of new hardware and software, but it’s still compatible with existing Sepro systems and programming.
By moving the CPU board out of the pendant and into the main robot-control cabinet, Sepro made it 25% lighter than its predecessor. Positioned more in portrait mode rather than landscape, the control’s screen has an aspect ratio of 10:16 instead of 4:3, providing a larger display without increasing the pendant’s overall size. Like a smartphone or tablet screen, the Visual 4’s interface is a capacitive touchscreen, offering increased responsiveness and accuracy, while supporting multitouch gestures.
The control will be available in three variations with increasing capabilities:
- Visual 4 - the basic configuration for simple pick-and-place applications, providing control of up to five axes and 24 inputs/outputs (I/Os).
- Visual 4 Plus - supports more mold programs, more I/Os, and more connectivity to peripheral equipment like conveyors and sortation.
- Visual 4 Pro – targets application-specific molding cells involving multiple robots, peripheral equipment and robots with special configurations. The Visual 4’s processor can control up to 10 axes of motion and store up to 1,000 mold programs.
