Keyence’s WM-6000 Series is a portable, handheld coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and 3D scanner which can be used for everything from R&D to quality control in the moldmaking process. The wide area CMM enables easy dimensional measurement and 3D scanning of large parts.

The CMM’s easy-to-use probe enables anyone to quickly and accurately measure features like flatness and straightness, or even scanning the mold. Along with a wide measurement range and automated reporting, the company says it’s an invaluable tool for the industry.

The system can play an integral role in moldmaking quality control, which is essential across a wide range of industries, providing cost-effectiveness in the production of complex and high-volume products. The CMM’s applications are diverse, ranging from automotive parts to medical devices. The system’s enhanced features give moldmaking manufacturers a proper quality control tool to ensure that products are within specification across the production process.

The WM-6000's full-CMM and CAD capabilities enable 3D/GD&T measurements, contour profile checks, CAD comparison and reverse-engineering. The CAD software can be integrated with other software such as Polyworks. From design and prototyping to production and final inspection, the WM-6000 is an efficient tool to improve the quality control process of any industry involved with molding, providing added-value and optimal efficiency.
