The L.S. Starrett Co.’s AVR400 CNC Vision System is an update to its existing AVR series of benchtop Vision systems, featuring the largest benchtop platform to date from Starrett with stage travel that is twice the speed of previous Starrett AVR models.
The automated inspection capabilities of the measurement system combine high-resolution images, intuitive software and a precise mechanical platform to deliver accurate, repeatable measurement results.
The stage travel is 15.8 × 11.8 × 7.9" (400 × 300 × 200 mm) in the X-Y-Z axes with a speed of up to 120 mm/sec. Coupled with existing CNC capabilities of the AVR line as well as the complete line of zoom and telecentric lens options, the AVR400 gives users the option to measure a broad range of part sizes or larger runs of multiple parts, while simultaneously reducing inspection time. All without having to compromise accuracy.
The system features 12:1 zoom optics with a Z travel of 200 mm (7.9"). It offers full CNC X-Y-Z positioning or motorized manual positioning using a pendant with joystick and trackball. It operates with intuitive, user-friendly Metlogix M3 metrology software with video edge detection (VED) and field-of-view (FOV) measurements integrated with stage motion. It also comes with Renishaw scales for 4 μin (0.1 μm) of X,Y and Z axis (available on select models).
Other features include a color digital video camera, collimated LED substage illumination and ring-light LED surface illumination. An optional touch probe gives it multisensor capability, enabling discrete measurements to be taken in hard-to-reach regions of a part such as bored holes or recessed areas.
