Digital Moulds and BMW Group Drive Mold Performance Visibility Through Digitalization
Digital Moulds partners with BMW to digitize mold monitoring, enhancing performance, transparency and global oversight.
Source: Digital MouldsDigital Moulds, a young start-up based in Upper Austria, has collaborated with the BMW Group since 2019. This partnership focuses on making mold performance measurable through mold digitalization. A powerful and easy-to-implement interface that operates across different systems made the digital transformation possible, as data is seamlessly transferred to the existing BMW Group IT infrastructure. Mould Monitoring is a key system component, including global condition monitoring to monitor and locate molds. This system enables continuous oversight of mold performance, regardless of location or time. It also provides transparency through mold condition data, ensuring proactive resource management within quality management and assisting in mold qualification. The information is presented and visualized through dashboards and figures, enhancing transparency to further optimize the supply chain. These technologies, developed by Digital Moulds are easy to install and can be seamlessly integrated into existing and new molds, saving time and reducing costs. Digital Moulds has a strong foundation with ownership of two moldmaking companies, Haidlmair and Hofmann, and can leverage the combined expertise of these global players.
