4th of July: Celebrating American Moldmaking

The moldmaking community shows strong support for military veterans and active service members, making Independence Day a meaningful time to recognize their contributions to both manufacturing and patriotic causes.

As we celebrate Independence Day with barbecues and time with family and friends in the US, it's a good opportunity to recognize the patriotic nature of American manufacturing, particularly within the moldmaking industry.

Over the years of visiting mold builders across the country, one thing stands out: mold builders tend to be patriotic people. You'll often see American flags displayed at their facilities, and this sentiment goes beyond just symbols.

The moldmaking community regularly supports military service members and veterans, especially those who have returned from service with injuries that require ongoing medical care and rehabilitation through iWarriors.

This program was started by Tim and Kim Bartz of Mold Craft in 2011 to help wounded servicemen and women by gifting them iPads for their communication and rehabilitation needs. Many shops participate through direct donations or fundraising events. This support has become a consistent part of the community’s identity. And, it has been a privilege for MMT to support iWarriors since its beginning.

So on this 4th of July, as we enjoy our holiday celebrations, it's worth remembering both the freedoms we celebrate and the people who work to support those who defend them. The moldmaking industry provides a good example of how businesses can contribute to causes that matter beyond their daily operations.
